Capitol Jaycees holds 59th Installation of Officers
JCI Quezon City Capitol Inc. recently concluded its 59th Induction of Officers and Turnover Ceremony last 1 February 2020 at the Quezon City Sports Club. In attendance were JCI regular members and senators from various JCI chapters all over the Philippines, a delegation from JCI Chiba, members of the JCI Philippines national board of directors, as well as numerous luminaries in the Quezon City government. JCI Senator Mark Joseph David, National President of JCI Philippines, graced the event as the guest of honor.
Honorable Joy Belmonte-Alimurung, Mayor of Quezon City, was the keynote speaker for the ceremonies. A product of the JCI movement herself, as well as the daughter of Hon. Sonny Belmonte – the third Filipino president of Junior Chamber International – she emphasized the big role of civil society service groups in bringing positive change to Quezon City.
The turnover ceremony also marks the return of the Capitol Jaycees in the national arena of JCI Philippines: with the board of directors for the year 2020, lead by its president, JCI Member Dean Prado, inducted to their positions by JCI Member John Raymond Fullido, Area Vice President (Area 2) of JCI Philippines. Various members of JCI Quezon City Capitol also serve in trusted positions in JCI Philippines, most notable being JCI Senator Alfred Vargas – 2017 chapter president and currently the Skills Development Director (National Training Director) of JCI Philippines.
Twenty-six baby Jaycees of Capitol were also officially declared as regular members. This continues the impressive year-on-year growth the chapter has experienced since 2017.
